Project Manager and Supervisor Job Description
Responsible for the organization and direction of sub-contractors, construction forces, activities relating to construction of custom decks and patios. Direct building processes while maintaining job-site safety and OSHA compliance. Must be able to draw or design with CAD design drawings and specifications. Provides technical direction to construction crews. Ensures quality and customer satisfaction are maintained throughout the construction process.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manages the construction and completion of custom decks and patios within desired time frames and standards set by Grandview Deck and Patio. Maintains inventory in a condition presentable to potential customers and within the acceptable standards of the Company.
- Oversee and schedule all construction related activities on a given project or multiple projects.
- Delegates appropriately to crews and subcontractors.
- Manage, train and direct crews as necessary
- Manage and control all direct and indirect construction expenditures per project.
- Implement policies, procedures, philosophies of the Company and all required paperwork.
- Ensure sub-contractors follow Company policies and procedures, local and state safety and OSHA compliance.
- Safeguard the job site from hazardous situations and material (per SWPPP) and ADEQ.
- Analyze and understand local and national building codes and is able to manage projects within those stated standards.
- Interact with local governing jurisdiction to obtain all required inspections and permits.
Other Responsibilities:
- Analyze and understand the manufacturer’s recommendations of the use and application of building products and manages the use of the product.
- Ensures quality assurance and customer satisfaction are maintained throughout the construction process.
Scope:
Directs and supervises all current projects for Grandview Deck and Patio. Coordinate multiple employees (no direct supervision authority).
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
High School Graduate with additional training in a technical school and/or through an apprenticeship program in one or more of the building trades.
Experience:
Ten to 15 years of previous residential or commercial construction experience preferred.
Skill in:
Thorough knowledge of one or more of the building trades, construction, deck, and patio, combined with a strong knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints, draw by hand, or use CAD.

Must have understanding of the technical aspects of construction, decks, and patios. Excellent organizational skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Must be able to maintain a professional appearance at all times. Must have reliable, insured vehicle that can tow a trailer. Bi-lingual in Spanish is helpful but not required.
